This week we begin a new series we're calling "Just Keep Swimming". We all find ourselves in the precarious, messy middle of this crazy year- 2020. Many of us find ourselves burned out, depressed, anxious, and uncertain about our future. We know we're called to push through despite all these emotions, but how? How do we remain faithful to Jesus when we can barely wake up and face a new day of social distancing? How do we find time for rest when we have to be constantly vigilant and entertaining to our children? How do we not burn out as we are being called to be consistent activists for social justice? Our prayer is that we can answer some of these questions and more in this series.
For the first part of this series, we interview Glenna Marshall on her new book, Everyday Faithfulness: The Beauty of Everyday Perseverance in a Demanding World. With Glenna's help, we discuss what Christian faithfulness looks like when life is demanding, hard or just plain ordinary. We discuss small ways to build simple habits that can lead to a lifetime of spiritual growth. As Christians, we are called to persevere in all circumstances. With grace and strength, Glenna helps us to see how it is possible with God's help.
Besides Glenna's website (linked above), you can find Glenna on Facebook , Instagram , and Twitter where she writes consistently and beautifully about a host of topics. Along with purchasing Everyday Faithfulness (linked above), you can check out her first book, The Promise is His Presence which we discuss with her back on episode 76 during out Faith and Doubt series. In this episode, we also discuss that Glenna is a pastor's wife, and we learn about some amazing things going on at her family's church.
